Workshop: Cultivating Student Engagement and Attendance In-Person / Online
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, an increasing number of instructors have observed that their students seem less engaged in class, with many reporting poor attendance, even in courses where robust in-class participation used to be the norm. While this downward trend in attendance might be indicative of waning engagement, in many cases it might also represent something else: namely, students' declining confidence in their own ability to focus, and learn, in the in-person classroom environment.
Join your colleagues and CTL Director Adam Beaver for a hands-on, hourlong conversation and workshop about what we can do to restore students' confidence in, and yearning for, a meaningful in-class experience.
