Digital Tools for Longform Writing Projects

Digital Tools for Longform Writing Projects Online

Digital Scholarship is not just about research -- it's about writing too! This graduate workshop introduces writers to digital tools to optimize the writing process for long-term projects. Attendees will reflect on their own work styles and learn management skills that can help sustain iterative projects. We will focus on writing journals, writing platforms, and outlining and task-tracking digital tools with the purpose of developing strategies for taking and preserving notes, keeping track of decision-making, managing citations, and reflecting on the writing process in a digital environment. This workshop is intended for writers working on dissertations, peer-reviewed articles, book projects, and any other long-term academic writing projects. No drafts are required and attendees can be working at any stage of their project.

This workshop typically takes about 1 hour, plus 30 minutes for discussion/questions at the end. Feel free to leave early if need be!
