Graduate Writers Workspace (campus/Zoom) In-Person / Online

This workspace is designed to provide graduate students with semi-structured time to tackle the tasks associated with long-term writing projects that tend to get interrupted by daily and weekly responsibilities. You can use the time specifically for writing, but you can also work on research, brainstorming, reviewing feedback, analyzing or organizing data, and other tasks related to your long-term writing projects.

The workspace is also a community-centered space where you can share goals, progress and struggles with other graduate students.

Each Graduate Writers Workspace is made up of two writing sessions. During the first and last ten minutes of each session, writers share (facilitated by our Writing Center staff member) their goals, progress, and challenges with other writers.

Session A: 9:00 – 10:30 am
Session B: 10:30am – 12:00 pm

You can attend both or just one of the sessions, and there are optional midway breaks built into the structure of each session. If you are attending only Session B, please arrive around 10:30 am.

Best for: Graduate Students working on long-term writing projects such as dissertations, theses, grant/job applications, articles, and term papers.
