Starting the Process: Research and Writing for your Dissertation/Thesis In-Person

This workshop offers helpful guidance for getting started on large or long-term research writing projects, such as senior honors and Master’s theses, graduate-level term papers, and dissertations and dissertation chapters. Topics covered will include establishing your research focus and your keywords in the critical conversation; finding subject-specific databases; narrowing and mapping your argument; and keeping your notes and resources organized with citation managers. Even if you've already started on your project, this workshop features helpful exercises useful at any stage in the writing and research process.
