Research and Writing in the Archives In-Person / Online

This workshop offers helpful guidance for planning and conducting original research in archives and special collections. Topics covered will include defining archives and special collections and how they are organized; defining research needs and finding relevant archives; reading and note-taking strategies while in the archives; and digital tools to assist in the research process. Even if you've already visited archives before, this workshop features exercises that are helpful at any stage in the writing and research process.

Co-taught by the Brandeis Library and University Writing Center

Best for: early stage PhD students, Masters students, and undergraduate seniors working with archival materials.
