Assessing Your Own Work for Clarity and Structure In-Person / Online

This workshop is aimed at helping graduate students assess their own writing in preparation for revision, paying particular attention to the structure of their argument and the clarity of their expression. We will cover topics such as self-evaluation, defamiliarization, and reverse outlining, and we will also discuss some practical tips to strategize your self-assessment and development as a writer. As part of an assessment activity we will be doing, please bring a short piece of your own writing (1-2 pages maximum, which can be an excerpt from something longer) to the workshop.
