Location, Location, Location!

Location, Location, Location! In-Person

Location, Location, Location!

From school districts to foot traffic, location is an important determinant of business sales volume, home property values, personal well being, and much more. Do you want to know the portion of households with children under 18 enrolled in a private school within 1.75 miles of your home address? The average spending per household on organic foods within a half mile of three potential new store locations? The age cohort in a specific area that has the most disposable income? These questions can all be answered with just a few clicks.

This workshop will introduce members of the Brandeis community to geographic information systems (GIS) tools that are powerful applications for use in business settings. Attendees will learn the fundamentals of navigating the ArcGIS Business Analyst interface and see a demonstration of the power of GIS as an aide for informed decision-making in the business world - and beyond.

This workshop is intended for users who have some familiarity with GIS (especially ArcGIS Pro), but those who are new to GIS are also welcome and should be able to follow along without difficulty.
